concept

ORIGIN

yokukiris are fragments born from the shattered remnants of celestial blessings, fusing with the essence of the earth. this bond gives them a deep understanding of human desires and emotions, stirring within them a longing to grant wishes. each yokukiri carries one of four unique blessings, which are fortune, love, wealth, and protection.

BEHAVIOR & CONNECTION

instinctually, yokukiri are drawn to a hidden realm known only to them, a sacred place we call yokukiri shrine. this ethereal realm floats above the earth: untouched by time, with its own vast sky illuminated by countless shooting stars. each streak of light represents a human wish, flickering across the heavens as the yokukiri watch over them. they like to gather with their friends to harvest these wishes from the sky, attempting to grant them. If successful, they gain wish essence, which is stored in their divine bond ribbons. the more wish essence a yokukiri accumulates, the more powerful they become and the higher their success rate in granting wishes. this realm is invisible and inaccessible to other species, including humans.

ABILITIES

guidance of fate

yokukiri can guide fates: steering humans toward paths aligned with their desires. this power weaves fate and wish fulfillment, ensuring alignment with a human's true desires; however, success depends on the yokukiri's strength and any unforeseen obstacles.

telepathy & semi-shapeshifting

yokukiri can communicate telepathically with chosen humans, forming deep mental bonds. they can also adjust their size and appearance to blend into human society, though the extent of this ability depends on their power.

wish binding

yokukiri can bind themselves to a human's specific wish, becoming more powerful the longer they stay connected to that individual. this bond serve as a source of strength but can be broken if the human's wish is abandoned or is corrupted by greed.

LIMITATION & WEAKNESS

once a yokukiri accepts a human's wish, they are bound to it. abandoning the vow would not only diminish their power but also distrupt the delicate balance of fate. yokukiri commitment is a reflection of their nature, ensuring that they honor their promises and stay dedicated to fulfilling the desire they choose to nurture. if a human's wish becomes selfish or corrupt, it can turn against the yokukiri, weakening their power or even causing it to become powerless.

BASIC TRAITS

yokukiri are humanoid beings. they are mostly noticeable with their head ornament, a decorative accessory worn on the head. blessing symbol, the symbols that show type what the yokukiri type is. and divine bond pairs of sacred ribbons wrap around yokukiri body that represents the connection between the divine and yokukiri.

BLESSING SYMBOL

the blessing symbols on a yokukiri’s head ornament reflect their specialty, each carrying distinct meanings. each symbol is intricately designed into the head ornament, making the yokukiri’s role easily recognizable. The medal attached at the knot can take on any shape for a variety of symbolic or aesthetic designs. you can change the center of the symbol (the ✦ ) to be something else.

the fortune yokukiri brings luck and opportunity. their presence leads others to good fortune.

LOVE

the love yokukiri brings affection and connection, strengthening relationships.

WEALTH

the wealth yokukiri brings prosperity and success, attracting abundance.

HEAD ORNAMENT

head ornament refers to a band-like accessory worn by yokukiri on their head. their blessings remain consistent in placement. the head ornament can be positioned on the head in two different ways.

FEATURES

common yokukiri resemble humans the most and have human-like ears
they have three blessing symbols: one floats above the head, while the other two are positioned near the tip

SHAPE & TEXTURE

the main base fabric is designed as a one-piece.
common decorations include patterns on the base or added fabric layers.
tip length varies, typically reaching from the ears to the shoulders.
the tip of the head ornament can be freely customized in shape.
small decorative details, such as mini tassels, beads, or folded motifs, can be added.
these decorative elements may be placed either above or beneath the head ornament. for common yokukiri, floating decorative objects are not allowed.

DIVINE BOND

The Divine Bond manifesting as pairs of ethereal ribbons that wrap elegantly around yokukiri bodies. These ribbons symbolize the unbreakable connection between the Yokukiri and the divine forces that guide them. Their design mimics Mizuhiki knots, intricate and meaningful, representing blessings and fate interwoven into their very being.commonly the sacred ribbons take on a rectangular shape, flowing with graceful movements and twisting into elegant bows and delicate flower shapes. These forms symbolize harmony and balance, their simplicity exuding a quiet beauty. In contrast, Rare Yokukiri possess ribbons that are far more intricate and decorative.

BODY

The Yokukiri possess a unique ability known as semi-shapeshifting, allowing them to adopt additional features without losing their humanoid form. This gift reflects their deep connection to the natural and supernatural worlds, though its extent depends on their rarity.Common Yokukiri lack this ability, remaining in their natural form.Uncommon Yokukiri can shapeshift into traits of earthly creatures, such as sprouting additional limbs, gaining a serpent’s tail while keeping their legs, or growing animalistic features like tusks or fur.Rare Yokukiri transcend the boundaries of the mortal world, able to shapeshift into aspects of mythical beings. Their forms may take on the essence of dragons, kirin, or celestial spirits, manifesting spectral wings, luminous horns, or even ephemeral, shifting tails that defy natural law.

WEAPONS

yokukiri naturally store their essence within their bodies, but channeling it directly can be unstable or imprecise. To harness their power with greater accuracy and efficiency, they rely on specially attuned weapons that act as conduits for their energy. The most common among these are rods and katanas, each suited to different fighting styles and spiritual disciplines.

GENERAL

yokukiri are just a collective characters with traits and concept related to japanese charms (omamori).
please credit smolmeiji as the species creator and respect the other designers for their character designs. they cannot be sold as separate character.
i can't stop you from using yokukiri with image ai tools, but if you respect the work, I kindly ask that you refrain from doing so.

SALES & USAGE

yokukiri auctions and sales are hosted on social medias including toyhouse, facebook, deviantart.
to participate, you must have at least one verifiable social media account, or your account should show activity on the adoptable within the past six to twelve months as proof.
yokukiri MYO slots are occasionally available for sale, but they can only be purchased with wish essence, which is earned through discord.
anyone who has an on-going payment plan will not be allowed to enter future sales until they have paid everything.
yokukiri can generally be used for personal use, such as collecting, roleplaying, storytelling and more, however please keep it sfw.
commercial usage applies to those purchasing traits associated with this closed species. buyers with commercial use rights need to be discussed with species creator and the designer, it cannot resell the design. they may use the design and yokukiri traits for online content and merchandise without edit or remove the yokukiri traits.

OWNERSHIP & REHOME

please keep your toyhouse profile visible or authorize smolmeiji so I can keep track of them easily.
there are no longer ownership transfer hub, the only way is through toyhouse. only characters made or approved by smomeiji are official. unverified or invisible profiles won’t be accepted in events or features.
do not delete toyhouse profile. if you lose your original account where the deisgn was stored, please contact smolmei. do not reupload without permission.
if the new ownder does not have toyhouse, please transfer it back to yokukiri.
If you originally purchased the adopt with money (e.g. through auction or direct payment), you're allowed to resell it for money.
If you resell it at the same price or lower, the next owner may also resell it for money.
If you received the adopt through a commission or character trade that included money, its monetary value will be recalculated based on the most recent payment amount.
If the adopt has been traded multiple times and no longer has a clear monetary value, it can no longer be resold for money.
It may still be traded or exchanged through commission work, character trade, etc.

WISH ESSENCE

within the yokukiri world system, wish essences function as a form of currency, allowing yokukiri to make exchanges or upgrade traits, changing their weapon type and more.

wish essences can be earn 3 ways:
1. purchasing yokukiri premade: earn 10 we per purchase, with a quota of 3 times.
2. discord server quests: get creative! contribute through drawing, writing, designing, or other activities to earn rewards.
3. discord gacha room—harvesting wish: participate by sending !bless the lucky ones might earn 1 we or even an item.

chobi is a calico yokukiri who has lived at the yokukiri shrine longer than anyone else. he runs a small charm shop tucked under the shrine roof, filled with lucky items and handmade sweets.
quiet and gentle, chobi watches over the shrine with a sweet smile and calm eyes. he doesn’t speak, but he understands everything and always seems to know what others need. he takes care of the other yokukiri and keeps the shrine safe, often sitting by the gate or napping where the sun hits just right.chobi hosts small events at the shrine, often tied to shop items, like lucky draws, discount, or sweet-gifting festivals.

HONMEI'S COOKIE WORKSHOP

As February welcomed the season of heartfelt gestures, Honmei invited friends and fellow Yokukiri to her cozy bakery to decorate cookies together ~The workshop was more than a baking session—it became a space for love, memories, vulnerability, and joy. Honmei’s gentle encouragement helped everyone bring something special to the table, whether a perfect design or an imperfect, heartfelt attempt.some joined nervously, unsure of their skills, but still put care into every detail. others, inspired by memories or personal connections, poured their hearts into unique creations. a few came simply for the joy of it, decorating playfully with no one in mind but themselves. and one, arriving late, brought a single, lovingly made cookie—cool to the touch, but warm with feeling.

ArtFight 2025

Summer rolled in with artfight—and for the first time, the yokukiri joined the fun.we inviting anyone who happened to draw a Yokukiri this year to share their work. No matter the team or style, every piece became part of something soft, shared, and celebratory.some joined early, some came late, and others returned the favor with playful revenges.
together, 12 cozy submissions made our first yokukiri artfight something truly special. it was a small beginning, but a meaningful one!
